Reading and highlighting

Tap a verse to select it with a dotted underline, then tap a colour to highlight. Tap Note to add a reflection or Commentary to explore a matched excerpt. Saved contains your bookmarks, highlights, notes and collections.

Your daily commitments

Set a daily reading time and a goal from 1 to 60 minutes. Version 1.1 adds a separate prayer schedule in Prayer > Set a prayer rule: choose hours, all or selected Psalms, and a 1–60 minute duration. Once your first plan is saved, changes to the goal apply tomorrow. Prayer rule edits, including disabling the rule, also apply tomorrow. Each day’s duration is committed from the night before. Today’s commitment lets you choose a later time today without changing its duration.

Reminders

Enable reminders in Reading & blocking schedule. Tap a reminder or its Reschedule today action to read or choose another time. Allow notifications in iPhone Settings. Focus, notification settings and system scheduling can affect when alerts appear. Reminders are scheduled locally and refreshed when you use the app: up to 60 days for one commitment, or 30 days each when both are enabled.

Screen Time protection

In Settings, choose apps to protect and approve Apple’s Screen Time permission. Selected apps block while a commitment is due and incomplete. In version 1.1, reading and prayer share the same protected apps; completing one does not bypass the other. Apps unlock when every due commitment is complete. Reading early counts. Moving today’s time moves its blocking start; tomorrow keeps the normal daily time. Screen Time permission is optional.

The timer pauses

Only time in the relevant active reader counts. For version 1.1 prayer progress, use Begin prayer rule; general library browsing does not count. Leaving the app, locking your phone, opening notes or commentary pauses the timer. Unfinished progress resets at midnight.

Commentary coming soon

We are adding short source-matched excerpts gradually. Missing commentary does not mean your Bible download is incomplete. Source and attribution details are available on each commentary card.
